Privacy Policy
Folveo is built privacy-first: the slides you create are stored on your own machine and are not required to be uploaded to any cloud. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the rights you have.
Quick summary: your slides stay on your machine. Folveo does not sell personal data. The only personal data we process is what's needed to license the app and provide support — most of which is handled by Polar (our payment provider).
1. Data we collect
a) Payment & license data
When you purchase Pro, Polar (our payment processor and Merchant of Record) collects your email, payment details and billing information. Folveo receives from Polar only the information needed to issue and validate license keys (e.g. email, plan status, license key). Folveo never sees or stores your card number.
b) Support emails
When you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content you send in order to respond.
c) License validation
To check your Pro status, the app connects to Polar's service and sends your license key and identifiers required for validation. This requires an internet connection.
d) Website data
folveo.com may use privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-site tracking cookies) to measure visits in an anonymous, aggregate way.
2. Data we do NOT collect
- The slide content you create — it stays on your machine and is never sent to Folveo.
- Credit card numbers — handled by Polar; Folveo has no access.
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
3. How we use data
We process the above data to: issue and validate Pro licenses; process payments and refunds; provide customer support; prevent fraud; and improve the product in an aggregate, anonymized way.
4. Third parties
We share minimal data with service providers necessary to operate:
- Polar — processes payments, invoicing, taxes and licensing (Merchant of Record).
- Third-party AI Assistants — you choose and install these on your own machine; when you use them to generate content, your prompt data is sent to that AI provider under their terms and policies. Folveo does not relay this content.
- Web/CDN infrastructure — to deliver the website and installer files.
When you use AI Assistants or image sources (e.g. Unsplash, Pixabay, Google Gemini, MiniMax), data processing is also subject to those providers' privacy policies.
5. Storage & security
Your slides and projects are stored locally on your device. Payment and license data are stored on Polar's systems and our service providers with appropriate security measures. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply reasonable measures to protect data.
6. Retention
We retain license and transaction data for as long as you are a customer and for the period required by law (e.g. accounting and tax obligations). Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these, contact hello@folveo.com. Some payment data may need to be requested directly from Polar.
8. Children
Folveo is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect children's data. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with an effective date. Please review periodically.
